What Airport do I fly into?

The trip will start and end in Cusco. You can fly into Lima Airport and you will need to get a domestic flight to Cusco.

The trip will start on July 1st in Cusco and end on July 8th in Cusco.

Please arrange your flights to arrive in Cusco the morning or afternoon of the July 1st.

Do I need accommodations in Lima?

If you arrive in Lima the morning or early afternoon of July 1st, you can take a flight to Cusco on the same day. Depending on where you are flying in from, you may need to fly into Lima the night before and secure yourself a hotel for the night.

There is a hotel at the airport,  Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport, if you chose to stay there. Take note, the city center of Lima is about 45-60 minutes away from the airport so plan your travels accordingly.

Should I be worried about the altitude?

Everyone experiences reactions to the altitude differently, and there are very little preventative measures you can take to avoid altitude sickness. We recommend everyone check with their own physician about ways to stay healthy and what to do if you experience altitude sickness while in Peru.

What will be the weather in Peru?

You will be traveling to Peru during the dry season which is technically the Peruvian winter. Day time temperatures will be in the high 60s and 70s with night time temperatures dropping to 32-45 degrees. Make sure to pack accordingly.

At what fitness level do I need to be to join this experience?

This is a very physical adventure trip that will consist of a variety of activities from hiking, cycling, stand up paddle boarding and yoga.   Keep in mind we will be doing all these activities and volunteering in high altitudes. We once again recommend that you begin to prepare yourself physically for this experience and also consult with your physician if you have any health or fitness concerns.

Do I need travel insurance?

Although not required, we strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance for all WTA Experiences to cover you in case of any sickness, injuries or travel related delays.
